Arrived!

We have arrived safely in Yangon, Myanmar!  Jason was horribly sick on our long flight over the ocean, due to something he ate, but we were extremely grateful to arrive at our hotel four days ago:
We are going to start looking for an apartment soon!
Jason starts teaching tomorrow at the Yangon University of Education tomorrow.  Here is a photo of his school:
We have been walking about a bit, and let me just share a few photos of people/things we have encountered.  Please excuse the quality so far, I am trying to be conspicuous with my camera until I know what is ok to take photos of, and what is not. :)

  1. I loved those pictures, Stephanie. I went through all of them multiple times and am looking forward to seeing more. The little girl is beautiful and I want to try one of the shish kabobs in the last picture although my mommy always told me that eating food from street vendors in developing countries is usually not the wisest thing. I also want to visit the little restaurant (if that's actually what it is?!) with the green and red plastic tables and chairs! I also love the picture capturing some of the public transit options! :)

    1. Thanks, Kathryn! You could enjoy all of those things - just a plane ride (or 3) away! :) Although, you are right, we have been warned that the street food could possibly kill you. :) I look forward to posting more. As you know from your travels, there is a photo op everywhere you look. I have to narrow down what to take photos of, or I could go crazy! :) Hope you are having a GREAT semester!!
